How much time do people work?
Between the ages of 25 and 65, the average person works at a company
40 years x 2000 hours (50 weeks) per year 80,200 hours or 10,000 days
40 years x 50 weeks x 12 hour days 3000 hours per year 120,000 or 15,000 days at 8hours paid time
Some people spend more than 50% of their waking hours in the pursuit of work whether paid or unpaid.
We work at school for knowledge, we work at a job for pay, we work at home for free in most cases, but we all work day in and day out at something, whether we are getting paid to do it or not. We even work to find work as that in its self is a full-time job.
The work we do can define us, label us, and contributes to who we are. Work can be our passion or our suffering.
Work sometimes called a JOB, sometimes called labor, sometimes called the thing we hate to do, but must do, sometimes called slavery, toil, drudgery.
Work that produces products and services has changed from manufacturing with the increase in technology to knowledge or information and people are the product or the company.
A job should not be “just over broke”. A job should be “just one beginning” as a job can take you as far as you want to go.
